Is your “Food Hygiene - Level 2” course a recognised qualification?

There is no current legal requirement to hold a qualification in food hygiene; the law only states that every organisation must ensure that they provide “relevant training”. However, prior to preparing this course, Learn HQ went through a comprehensive assessment of food safety and hygiene, including approaching the Food Standards Agency, to ask what constitutes basic food hygiene and safety training. “Food Hygiene – Level 2” is the result – so you can be sure your staff are adequately trained in the very latest in safe food and drink preparation.

Are you accredited by the Royal Institute for Public Health (RIPHH) or the Chartered Institute for Environmental Health (CIEH)?

We are currently unable to provide courses accredited by either of these bodies as they only accredit their own courses at present. However, numerous environmental health officers have now viewed our course and we have received many positive responses. We understand that in their work, they are more concerned that all food safety and processes are followed. Our course helps ensure that your team always gets the best training and thereby significantly reduce the risk of incidents in your workplace.

How long does the assessment take?

Approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour, depending on the user. Then, to ensure that each candidate has successfully absorbed all relevant information, they must complete a test at the end. Once this is passed, candidates can print out a certificate. We recommend that our clients keep a central file with copies of these certificates, ready to produce for an Environmental Health/Ofsted inspection.

Can my staff re-take their training in the future?

Yes. We provide you with a perennial license, so not only can you train your staff today for one fixed cost, but as new members join the team, including seasonal staff and part-time assistants, you ensure that each person receives the full training in the very latest in food hygiene. Employees can conveniently complete the course in their own time, using their personal laptop/PC, and existing staff members can retake the course at any stage in the future. This gives both you and your users complete flexibility, and at the same time, we substantially reduce your ongoing training costs.

Do you offer eLearning for the iPad or iPhone?

Learn HQ provides bespoke learning and reference materials on iPad and iPhone for a number of clients. As an experienced learning provider, we fully understand the technical and pedagogical considerations of mobile eLearning (or mLearning).

If your organisation has a requirement for iPad, iPhone or any other mobile device we would welcome the opportunity to discuss your requirements.

Although our off-the-shelf courses are not compatible with iPad or iPhone, we are in the process of creating a library of titles which will fully exploit these devices.
