Fire Safety Risk Assessment Forms

In accordance with the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, fire risk assessments must be carried out by a "responsible person" on a regular basis, in every workplace.

Fire risk assessments are about identifying the effect of fire on people's safety, the environment and the property itself. A risk assessment will help the responsible person to ensure that fire safety procedures, fire prevention measures, and fire precautions are all in place, as well as identifying any issues that need attention.

A thorough risk assessment can be divided into five easy to follow steps. Learn HQ have produced a form for each of these steps, along with a brief explanation for each one, to assist the responsible person in ensuring that they have fulfilled their duty.

The steps are as follows:

  • Step One: Identify any potential hazards
  • Step Two: Decide who might be at risk in the event of a fire
  • Step Three: Evaluate the risks and adequacy of existing fire safety measures
  • Step Four: Record findings and actions to be taken
  • Step Five: Review the fire risk assessment
