Food Hygiene: The Basics

Food Hygiene legislation affects food businesses of all sizes from sandwich shops, cafes and takeaways to restaurants, hotels, shops, schools, nurseries and colleges. It states that all staff working in food handling and preparation roles must be given appropriate training.

At Learn HQ we understand that this can be both a costly and time consuming undertaking, especially for smaller businesses with low levels of staffing and tight margins. To enable businesses to meet their training requirements whilst still concentrating on running their business Learn HQ have developed an eLearning solution to this issue. This interactive eLearning course provides all the necessary material you require to train your staff in the principles of Food Hygiene.

The Food Hygiene: The Basics training includes:

  • The Common Causes of Food Poisoning
  • Preventing Cross Contamination
  • Cleaning and Disinfecting
  • The Correct Storage of Food
  • Chilling, Freezing and Cooking
  • Harmful Bacteria
  • Food Hygiene – The Law

Learn HQ’s course covers all the required training modules for those involved in food or drink preparation as laid down by the Food Standards Agency. The course also includes a quiz to ensure that your staff fully understand the principles of food hygiene/safety. A printed certificate is then available upon successful completion of the course.

Covering all the necessary procedures and good practice, you can train your staff as required within an hour and without them leaving the workplace. Alternatively, they can complete the training at home. All that’s required is a computer with a CD ROM drive or Internet access.

Food Hygiene: The Basics is easy to use and simple to navigate making it ideal for those with little or no computer knowledge.
