In The Line Of Fire - Schools edition
Are you covered? As an employer of more than five employees, do you know that you are now legally required to provide basic fire safety training?
Learn HQ, in partnership with AT&F Solutions Ltd. offer you and your staff an opportunity to learn the necessary steps to avoid fires in the school. Most importantly, should the worst happen, you’ll know how to approach a fire incident calmly.
AT&F’s fire safety training course is a very comprehensive, interactive training module with a thorough assessment (multiple-choice) at the end. It is conveniently and securely accessible through a training portal on the Internet. Most importantly, it’s cost-effective, priced to meet today’s budget constraints.
“In The Line Of Fire” is designed to offer your employees an in-depth approach to fire safety in the workplace – with the “If in Doubt, Get Out” message reinforced throughout.
All aspects of fire safety are covered, from prevention to reaction, and sessions include:
Fire Fundamentals – The Dangers of Fire; The Chemistry of Fire; Classes of Fire; Types of Extinguishers.
Fire Prevention – Good Housekeeping; General Fire Prevention; Practical Fire Safety.
Fire Emergency – Discovering a Fire; On Hearing The Alarm; Trapped by Smoke; Using Fire Equipment.
Arson Prevention – this section of the course is endorsed by the West Midlands Arson Task Force (http://www.wmarsontaskforce.gov.uk), a partnership between West Midlands Fire Service and West Midlands Police.
The course combines ‘real life’ role-playing scenarios (“missions”) to encourage each student to think about fire safety in the context of their own environment. The main missions are:
- Identify the type of fire and which extinguisher to use
- Identify possible fire safety hazards
- Take appropriate action when discovering a fire
At the very end, there is a multiple-choice test, with test score for each member of your team recorded, providing proof of their level of fire safety training.
The message here is prevention. “In The Line Of Fire”, is possibly the most used fire safety training module in the UK today and has gained respect and endorsements from many leading fire authorities, including West Midlands Fire Service, Avon Fire & Rescue, Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue, and Nottingham Fire &Rescue Service.
